La Chinampa del Colibrí

Learn, feel

and fly to the origin.

A ritual of return to the sacred land. Hand-rowed trajinera, café de olla, ancestral planting and living memory — all on a chinampa that breathes.

The Origin

The hummingbird in the Mesoamerican cosmovision was a messenger, a guardian, a symbol of energy.

Today we are born to reconnect the traveler with their roots, with the sacred land, with the living history of Xochimilco.

It is not a simple tourist tour. It is a ritual of return to the origin — presence, gratitude.

Each experience is lived in intimacy — no crowds, no noise, no rush. Just you, the canals, the land and the memory of those who came before us.

The Territory

A living chinampa

that breathes through the community.

A millenary system of chinampas, canals and ancestral knowledge that resists time. Here every sprout is an act of memory, every stroke of the oar a dialogue with those who tended this land before us.

The Flight of the Hummingbird

Six stations, one single flight.

Each experience is interwoven with the next. They aren't activities — they are moments to feel, remember and give thanks.

01 / Navigation

Trajinera

Contemplative oar-rowed navigation through ancestral canals. No motor, no rush — just the water and the wind.

02 / Table

Food

Café de olla, cocoles, traditional quesadillas, comal-grilled vegetables and lavender-chamomile infusions.

03 / Earth

Sowing

Ancestral sowing workshop in direct contact with the living earth of the chinampa. Hands in the mud, roots in the soul.

04 / Spirit

Gratitude

An act of thanks and spiritual connection. A pause to name what the water, the earth and the sky give us.

05 / Memory

History

Stories of Mesoamerican history and memory in Xochimilco, told by those who tend it daily.

06 / Silence

Contemplation

Free space for meditation, wonder and deep listening. Time, for once, stops pushing.

The Difference

What makes us different.

01

Intimacy & exclusivity

Small groups and artisanal attention. Each visit is designed for your group — you'll never share a trajinera with strangers.

02

Real impact

Every peso stays in the chinampera community and in projects that regenerate the territory. To live this is to care for it.

03

Slow rhythm

Here we don't "complete" activities. We inhabit them. The trajinera is never late because it has nowhere to rush to.
